Beginning in the fall of 2018, Partners in School Innovation is supporting a network of ten Philadelphia schools focused on improving math instruction. Partners will bring together teachers, instructional coaches, and leaders to strengthen their skills in intervening with middle grades students who are working below grade level while still providing effective standards-aligned instruction.
Emphasis will be on root cause analyses of underperformance; establishing our continuous improvement methods within school teams; building teachers’ capacity and knowledge in math standards, research, and best practices; and bringing about greater educational equity.
This work is being funded by a $500,000, fifteen-month grant from the Bill & Melinda Gates Foundation. We are proud to be one of the 19 organizations receiving a grant in August 2018 from more than 500 organizations that applied for funding.
