Jess joins the team at Partners as a change maker on the rise. With more than just a diverse background in youth development and administrative experience, Jess is passionate about the mission of the organization and the community it serves. Before coming to Partners, Jess was the Program Coordinator of the School-to-College Program of the Bar Association of San Francisco. This role allowed her to provide direct hands-on support to a caseload of low-income, first generation, minority high school students, many of whom had no other advocates. Responsible for many things including daily academic counseling, crisis management, and the college application process, Jess was a regular presence in these students’ lives, helping to teach them a balance between academic requirements and life challenges. Determined to accomplish her long-standing dream of founding her own non-profit youth center, Jess has joined Partners with the hopes of gaining experience and knowledge from the business perspective to combine with her direct services experience. A 2012 UC Davis graduate, Jess emerged with a Bachelor of Arts in Sociology with a Social Services emphasis, a course of study that she plans to integrate into her work at Partners and beyond. Her personal connections to the very demographic that Partners serves, coupled with her youth development and administrative experience, makes Jess an invaluable asset to the non-profit world and, more specifically, the underserved youth she cares so deeply about.
