Originally from Oakland, California, Stephen is a dedicated educator focused on creating exceptional educational and life outcomes for students, especially those who have been historically under-served.
Stephen is fortunate to have had the opportunity to serve with, learn from, and spread the best practices of dedicated teams of educators from five states and the District of Columbia. Beginning his career as a second grade teacher in 2001, Stephen has gone on to hold several leadership positions in both district and charter schools.
His accomplishments include leading a school to the highest test scores in the state for African American students, putting in place a district-wide system that reduced student expulsions by 75 percent, leading the highest rated KIPP school in the country, and building over 100 community partnerships for schools.
Stephen received his B.S. in Business Management from Morehouse College and his M.Ed. in Educational Leadership and Supervision from Howard University.
